August 15th

I know it has been awhile, but not much new has bloomed lately.  Here are a few shots of what is in the gardens now.

July 24th

It's rained a lot the last few weeks, but I got out yesterday to get a few more pictures.

July 20th

Have not been out to take pictures because it's been wet, but there are a few new things in the garden.
Some yellow day lilies opened up after the rain.

I don't know what these crazy guys are, but they sure are neat!

Our Hostas have started to bloom.

And there are TONs of these guys.  They are bigger than grapefruit.

July 4th!

Last month, we ran across a sale on bulbs at our local Mardens.  Since we had a flower bed that didn't have anything in it, we picked up a ton of bulbs to fill it up.  One of the packages was labeled as "Norwegian Daffodils" and were like nothing that we had ever seen before.  We were skeptical but, I planted about 40 bulbs spread out generously in the empty patch.  Not even 3 weeks later, we were treated to this:

The best part is, there are 3 more of these getting ready to open.  Our wildflower patch has some new arrivals.  Some interesting Clover flowers that I have never seen before and some purple Bachelors' Buttons.

If you are noticing a penchant for blue and purple flowers over other colors, it's not by happenstance.  Sarah really loves purple and her choices show it.

June 18th

Sarah tossed out a few bags of wildflower seeds into one of the beds that got beat up badly by plowed snow and a ton of cool little flowers.

June 17th

The week long visit from friends is over and a lot has popped up during that time.

Our two patches of Columbines are amazing looking

We picked up a bunch of Veronica Royal Candles and put them in a bit of a bare spot in one of the beds

We have a TON of this ground cover surrounding the beds and its all flowering right now

We didn't even notice these silver plants around the flag pole in the front yard until they flowered this week.

June 10th

It's been awhile, but with trying to squeeze everything that needs to be done outside into the 2 sunny days in-between days and days of rain, had not left me with time to stop and photograph the roses.

Today is beautiful, however and a bunch of new flowers have popped up from the rain.  I am not sure what these are, they are growing like weeds in places around the yard.

Daisies are all over the gardens now too, open for the sun.  Everywhere that doesn't get mowed, has them

The pink Lupines are almost filled out.

Our Yellow Day Lilly patch has started to bloom.  We have more colors to put in this fall so we will have more than just yellow next year.
